My Mom would always say that I had a list for everything. I'm a list maker. I love making lists. So, several years ago, I sat down and carefully wrote out my bucket list. I wanted my goals to be 1). attainable and, mostly, realistic, 2). safe'ish, 3). taking into consideration both the small and big picture, and 4). FUN!! It's exciting to have something to look forward to and so gratifying to fulfill a desire.
Bucket lists are as unique as the person writing them out. I'm sure many of the aspirations I've inventoried would be laughable to some, perhaps insignificant. But that's the beauty in a bucket list - IT'S ALL YOURS. You can add to it at anytime and you manage how quickly or slowly you cross off those items. You can conquer it alone, or with someone you love...or like. I truly believe that if you set your mind to it, you can achieve just about anything. So why not dream big?

I wonder how many people reading this have accomplished some of the things on my list? I wonder how many I've accomplished on yours? Sure, some of the items are kind of trivial and some are really moving. Some seem pretty far fetched, but I think they're all doable. I may have to get pretty creative with a few of these. I mean, I never expected in a MILLION YEARS to see the last living Temptation perform - mostly because I thought they were all dead - but when I read that Otis Williams was in fact alive and well (and, thankfully, still touring) I knew I had a shot. A shot indeed. I even shook his hand. That's, like, extra credit bucket list points!!
The list will continue to grow for as long as I have goals to accomplish. And, as long as there's breath in me, and the good Lord allows, I plan to journey on.
So, what's on YOUR bucket list?

As I was reading this I started planning in my head..."you can see the Northern Lights in Sweden, so combine them...then go to Greece in the same trip." LET'S DO IT! My personal list to follow. :)
Nothing is too trvial for a bucket list; it's what you want to do, after all. :) That cemetery in Savannah looks interesting. Where was the skinny dippin spot; somewhere in the Caribbean?
I have my own trivial bucket list as well as an anti-bucket list for things I have no intention of doing. (like skydive, eat a McRib) :)
Best of luck on yours! :)
Lauren, I realize now that I can combine a few of those and knock them out in one trip/activity.
Jeff, let me start by saying that the McRib is definitely on my anti-bucket list too. I'm sure I'd never get through my actual bucket list if I ingested one of those, McDisasters.
Savannah is really special to me because my Dad's family lived there for generations. That photo was taken at my Great-Grandparent's gravesite. And, the skinny-dipping took place in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Man-O-War Cay in the Bahamas...what a backdrop!! I'd love to hear more about your bucket list. :)
Joy,
What I like about your list is the personal touch; visiting your Great-Grandparent's grave site. The Bahamas locale does look great. My one and only time in the Caribbean was at Punta Cana which we enjoyed.
I forgot to say, how cool it was to be in the pit photographing a concert. I always enjoyed photographing bands at small clubs as a hobby.
My blog list sprawls worse than a subdivision. I have a previously completed list of things I did (skinny dip, see the Great Wall of China, visit this place or that...) before these lists were in vogue. :) I have a small but growing anti-bucket list and an actual bucket list of stuff to do such as see the northern lights, take my family to Ireland, experience weightlessness, etc).
meet dr. dre. How can we make this a reality for you???
